"Lighten up, you a–-holes,"the Rocket Man said in response to the onslaught ofjokesand nasty slights made by the likes ofKings of Leon,GorillazfrontmanDamon AlbarnandDave Grohlsince the musical series became a runaway hit.
"It's a compliment when someone records or does one of your songs. It doesn't matter if it's a bad version, it's just a compliment, so I've never lost that thrill,"he continued, before calling out
America's favourite band of brothers, arguably the most vocalnaysayerswhen it comes to 'Glee' (especially whentalkingto Spinner).
"Kings of Leon, lighten up guys. Come on."
Who would have thought a 60-minute episodic about a high-school glee club would cause so much fuss? For some reason, though, musicians and television stars can't help but boldly declare their love or venomous hate for the show.
And with Elton John's impassioned defense of McKinley High and its singing students, thepro-'Glee' contingent -- which includes 'Forget You'-originatorCee Lo Green-- gets an added kick.
It's anyone's guess as to who will be next to sound off about 'Glee.'
